Default Car seat blanket pattern

Does anyone know of free pattern online for a blanket for use in a car seat? I’m finding poncho patterns but i’d Like a pattern that tucks around and covers legs for little ones. This is for children who are no longer in the infant carrier but the regular car seat.

That one is for the infant carrier. I’m looking for the next step up —actual car seat. Children aren’t supposed to have a coat, especially the puffy kind, so am hoping for something like the poncho but a blanket to tuck in and cover the legs. Want to use fleece

When my daughter was little, we had a fleece one piece cover up that worked well, that was kind of like this. It was good for adding warmth without adding significant bulk under the straps (since squishy stuff reduces the effectiveness of the restraints in a collision). If you go that route, I suggest making it on the large size, particularly in terms of length of the sleeves and legs, as that will really extend the useful life of it. Having a zipper that goes down one of the legs definitely makes it easier to get it on child.

This one is not free but not expensive. It could be made longer if desired.

This is awesome! I wish I had one of those when my munchkin was small. We just used a fleece blanket.

I have seen some tutorials on you tube. They look fairly simple, made of 2 layers of fleece.

shoot i made myself a coat out of a blanket years ago. so maybe just a blanket with velcro would work.
