This rreminds me of when we first moved in our trailer and something was in the garbage in the shed, Thinking it was the neighbors little dog, I was going to scare it off I flipped on the light opened the door and yelled get outa here, Only to my surprise it was a skunk! And no he didn't spray, I just snuck back in and turned off the light. Needless to say the garbage was the taken outside to a garbage pail!!

It was so ugly!!!
I found one in my empty trash can last year. I have never screamed so loud. It was the ugliest thing I have ever seen. My son has to take the garbage out now.

They have the most evil set of teeth on them! LOL, if you would have grabbed him, he would have played dead! I once had a retriever who would bring them to me as GIFTS! Poor things would lay on the porch til I put the dog away, then saunter off....

yes it would have bitten you. You can rest easy knowing though that possums very very seldom carry rabies. Their body temp is too low. One morning the kids came running inside to tell me something was dead on the deck. I went out and it was a little possum. Ds was heading grab it when i stopped him. I'm pretty sure it was dead as the dogs had been playing with it and our pyr doesn't like ANY critter in the yard but ds still was NOT going to touch it! I took the shovel and whacked it to be sure before disposing of it. We have chickens and boy can those suckers wreak havoc in a chicken coop!

My four cats are only inside cats, never go outside.

OPEE was in the side wall of my basement for sometime before I found out. You guessed it...a possum. I kept hearing a pop sound along that outside wall. Couldn't find any sign of a critter of any kind. coming home from my quilt guild at 10:00pm i saw something run across the lawn and disappear. He went under my front steps. Called the enviornmental guy and 2 months and about $2000 and we THINK he is gone. If there was a 'HE' you know there would be a 'She' soon and they have babies in the spring. Long story short; it is the only marsupial in North America and my homeowners will cover the damage. They will not pay for removal but will cover the damage. He/she/it was running along the outside wall at the top of thr basement behind the insulation. This was all just in the last 3 months. I HOPE WE SOLVED THE PROBLEM and don't have anymore critters. The guy sealed the edge of the front steps with that expanding insulation stuff.
At first I was afraid but he/she/it never came into any other part of the house.
