I have made log cabin blocks that hang on point. Easy to do and a good use of scraps. If you would like a picture I can send after the holidays. Traveling right now. Merry Christmas All!

I have been working on some rag ball ornaments.

This started out as a 2" Styrofoam ball, I cut 1-1/2 inch squares
of fabric using the pinking shears or a pinking blade in my rotary
cutter.

I use the Aleene's Tacky glue diluted 75/25 mixture (75% glue to 25% water)
small or skinny bamboo wood skewer.
Below is a picture of the current ornament that I am working using a 1-1/2"
foam ball.

I went to the dollar tree store to get packs of the foam balls 3-4 sizes per bag.
Can also use the different sizes to make snowmen.

Sophie2 please show us a picture of your log cabin ornament. It sounds so pretty.

I like the rag ball ornament Quilty-Louise, and the yo yo wreath ornament too cfuzzy.

i like that fuzzy ball too. dollar store 'stuff' and balls makes it cost affordable

Louise, about how many squares does it take,
also, when you punch the squares in, does it matter if the right side is facing out or the inside??

JuneBillie, you asked for pictures of my log cabin quilt ornaments. I have also attached a few other ornaments I have made that are quick and easy. I can look up the patterns if anyone wants them. I buy tiny wooden embroidery hoops (3" dia) and embroider a picture/sketch/outline of a winter scene on it with the year and bow and hang it on the tree or give them as gifts.
