Click on "Notifications" at the top of the screen; this will take you to a list of all your inbox messages. For the messages you want to delete, click on the empty box to the right of the message; this will "select" that message. Towards the bottom of the screen, click on "Selected Message" to display the menu. Click on "delete" and then on "Go". That will delete the messages you have selected. If you want to delete all of the messages on the page, a faster way is to click on the box above all the other boxes; this will select all of the messages. If there are a couple you want to save, click on their boxes to unselect them.

Notifications automatically goes to your inbox. You will need to do the same thing for your "sent" messages. To look at your sent messages, look to the left of the screen listing all the messages; you will see "inbox" and "sent". Click on "sent" to switch to the list of your sent messages.
