Copyright Question

there are two issues here:
1. copyrights
2. trademark rights

if you copy the logo in any way at all it would violate copyright law.

if you pay for the t-shirt, or other material that has the properly licensed logo already on it, you can do what you want with it. that's "fair use."

what you must do is make it clear that whatever you make is not licensed by the team, sold by the team, endorsed by the team, or any of another 1,000 terms you might think of. in other words, you can't represent the items as being a product of the team.

if you make a few here and there you should be safe. "Should" is the operative word here.
if you make a lot of them you risk the legal battle dunster warned could happen.

i would stick to making items only from legally licensed items purchased and provided by the person(s) who want(s) them. each person is free to use the item as they see fit, although i wonder if there might be a kerfuffle if they want to use it in some way that's disrespectful to that team.
