My stuff seems to download automatically to a file called "downloads". From there I can find them, open them up, and then do a "file save as...." and put them into the folder I want them to be in. So, start by doing a search for "downloads" from you start menu.

I highlight the address and send myself an e-mail. Then I put it in a folder marked "quilts" in my g-mail. I want to save on my home computer and I am usually at work when I am doing this, LOL.

I am a Mac user so I know that my computer is different. However, it took me a while to realize that my computer had a "default" which sent all my downloads to a (you guessed it) a "downloads" folder. LOL Boy did I feel - well you know? Now I am careful to "save as" and pick where my downloads go because in the "download" folder they have strange names that I cannot always identify. I am much more careful now and if I forget, I go through my download file and start opening them up until I find the one I want and then "save as" where I want it or can find it more easily.

I have to say...I really hate that my computer is smarter than I am. UGH

Not all downloads are automatically saved unless you set things up in varied ways. First you download, then when the download has finished you open the file and save it to the location that you want. if it is a pdf you right click on the mouse and then choose the option "save as" . That way, you should find them again. If you find it difficult to find stuff within the file, type the relevant words in the search box at the top RH corner of your screen and the computer will search for you.
If you have not saved your downloads, go to the downloads folder of your computer or to the folder within your downloader program, open it there and save it to a common location.

I don't save anything I don't have to, to my hard drive, Always to desk top or (AOL) to mananged mail. So if computer crashes I will not lose all I've saved, well I would lose on desk top but not in manage mail. :)

Click Start: In the Run command type %temp% then ok. It will bring up all your temp files. You can search for any download that may have gone there. When you are finished finding what you need if it's there and moving the files you want to another folder, click edit, select all, then file , delete. You don't need any of these temp files, they just take up space.

I save all my downloads to my desk top and then upload them to an online storage so I can delete the file from my computer. I don't save many files on my computer.

You should have "favorits" in the upper left had corner with a star. Just click on that, click "add favorite" and make a folder and then click "add". Have any questions you can pm me.....

It most likely is in your My Documents... click on Start at the bottom right of your computer screen... up will pop a menu and there you will see My Documents. Click that and a list of everything you have saved should appear there!

OK, I'm still not doing something right. I save the freebie, but when I go back to pull it up, it shows up garbled and unreadable. I thought I was saving it as a word document - apparently not. Someone said I couldn't pull a pdf document up as a word document. Help, please
