Default Coupons for soldiers??

I was told that "cents off" coupons could be collected for our boys overseas and that the base exchanges would accept them even if expired. Does anyone out there if this is true and if so, how to go about it? Where to send them, etc? I would like to work this into a class project with my special needs students.

Yes, this is true. I'm a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and we collect coupons and send them in. I'm not sure exactly the process for sending them in, but I can find out and re-post. I cut them out of newspaper fliers, magazines, etc. I place them by category as noted below and turn them in to the person in our auxiliary who collects them. You might check with your local American Legion Auxiliary to find out if they collect and send coupons in. If they do, you could give them to a member to turn in or drop them by that legion post. We were told to separate coupons as noted below:
Food
Non-Food (such as toiletries, etc.)
Pet Food

Thanks for the link. DH is always saying he hates to throw the coupon flyers away but we didn't know what else to do with them. Now we know. Tuesday, Wednesdays and Sundays are the biggest days for coupons in our town.

Ladydukes, I, too am a member of the American Legion Auxiliary here in Greenville, SC, and we, too, collect coupons and send them in. I agree with all you have said. Thank you for your patriotism.

Sounds good! I have always hated to throw them out, even though I never use them.
