Yes, most hill folks know that. As a child I found a small diamond ring in an old crow's nest and Grandma was able to sell it for enough to help pay our yearly taxes!!! After that, when I saw a big nest and was able to reach it, I always checked it out. Lots of soda pull tabs, anything that sparkled. They have been known to fly into a room with no screens on the windows and steal anything that sparkled. They're intelligent, strong, fast and nosey!!
Yes, that's right hahahahahh....they are very nosy and I love anything with mischief hahahahah

Yes they took a while. First I studied lots of pictures and then made a line drawing of the body as good as I could get it, then cut it apart and made the pattern.

Making the fist one always takes longer and after the tweaking etc then it goes better.....not including the beading which is really enjoyable and I don't mind the time at all.

I can take the same pattern and do any bird really. I just change the tail style and maybe the beak. For instance I am doing a purple Martin next and his tail is like a Swallows tail and so on.

I have already drafted a Blue Jay. His tail is scalloped when you look at his picture.

I posted the Cardinal some days ago, I forgot now which thread lol....I think with the last two of PM and BJ that I will reach the end of my bird frenzy lol.

I found the link for the cardinal..

I too, love crows....I think they are my totem animal....I often dream of them even though I don't really like birds in general at all. I just ordered some lovely earrings from an artist in NSW, Australia that feature crows in a dead tree. That sounded awful as I read this but they are really nice. Love your crows!
