Thanks for this site. I'd never heard of it but signed up but I'm pretty much convinced I'll never find a featherweight in my price range. Off to yard sales for me I guess although here in Maine there aren't too many of those actually.

Thanks to all who offered a shoulder to cry on about my auction loss. I knew you all would understand my frustration. I bid as high as I financially could but losing by $10 was tough.
I'm doomed to never own one I guess but I'll keep looking. The local antique mall has one but it's over my budget. In this economy, most thing are actually.

That's just what I do. Even if I am outbid by only $5, I figure if I got into a bidding war, who knows how high the other guy would have pushed the price!

I am so sorry! That does stink to be outbid by just $10. Next time, wait until there is like 45 seconds & put your highest bid in. Hang in there, eventually you will run across another one. Maybe it will be in better cond. and cheaper!~

When I first started buying on ebay my youngest son told me to do that very thing. I've learned a lot from my kids :D

That is because there is a more beautiful one waiting in your future. Enjoy the anticipation of a lovely lady waiting to come home to you.

I don;t bid at all until the last 3-5 min. Each time you bid throughout the auction period you raise the price. Some bidders actually start bidding $20, $50 and more early in the auction. And by waiting others don't know I am there until the end. Good luck on finding one within your budget soon. They are there but you need to keep looking regularly.
