I agree. Grissom's line about 'jumping the shark' summed it up well.
Which is really annoying, because prior to that it was regularly really enjoyable. I wasn't a fan of the Laurence Fishburne era, but Ted Danson et. al. had resurrected it in my opinion.
This finale rather tripped over its own attempts to be smart, and fell into hackneyed. Grissom and Sara sailing off into the sunset... really??

DH was so unimpressed and gave me a funny look. I told him as soon as I saw Grissom in the commercials pre-empting for the show, they were going to get back together and go off into the sunset. He liked the show as a filler for whatever else was on Sunday night. He fell asleep, nodding off a lot, then woke up right as she got on the boat. He looked at me and said did you see something on FAcebook that leaked the ending? I jokingly made the comment prior to. My remark was just a hunch. LOL. Anymore if it's a finale, it's usually disappointing.
