If not requiring a signature they will drop and go, some delivery co's hire subcontractors to deliver so you may have gotten someone not fully screened. Sad we have to be so cautious, but we do, all neighborhoods effected by these things happening, not always bad to have a nosey neighbor:)

Hope this turns out OK

I'm glad you are OK and that your "puppies saved the day". We used to have a BIG female and one of her favorites was to get people in the corner. She'd get on her elbows and growl (play) but they didn't know that. I know she thought this was the greatist.

She used to grab my horse's tail and swing from side to side when we were galloping. She was such a corn ball.
Miss her alot!!
:D

How scarry! They just were telling on the local news that most robberies here are during the day. They kick the door in if they knock and no one answers.

Thieves and burglars, purse snatchers and car jackers *always have plans*. They know when they're going to attack and how they're going to get away. They're watching for a person who's not paying attention to what's going on around them - then they attack.

In our subdivision I have home numbers for everyone and even cell phone numbers of our closest neighbors. WE do not hesitate to call each other if something is amiss in the 'hood'.

Just the other week my neighbor across the street called early in the morning and said "I just saw this tall 'blond hair' woman dressed in black in your driveway walking back and forth looking in one of the cars. Then she walked to the street and got into a red car and drove off." I let her go on for a few more minutes and then told her it was my daughter - who recently dyed her hair blond!

We had a good laugh and I told her to NEVER HESITATE to call me if she thinks there's anything wrong at my house. It felt so good knowing she was looking out for us ... just the way we look out for them.

Always go with the "gut" feeling.
My UPS and FED-EX drivers always toots the horn as soon as they stop. Gives us a chance to see who is the driveway. They they bring the package to the door. Sub-driver for Fed-EX left a package at neighbors home. You guessed it the package disappeared before another neigbor could get it.
BE CAREFUL AND WISE.

I'm thinking of having a box seat built for beside my front door. It should have a lift up seat so that no one could see if it had anything in it. I will also see that it is fixed to the cement porch with both screws and Gorilla Glue. We did have a nice small one there some years ago and it followed someone else home. The next one NO one will be able to move!!
