Dec 2011 Weight Loss Adventure With A Prize! (the winner is mim)

On December 1 weigh yourself and write it down. Do NOT send it to me. On December 31 weigh yourself again and PM me with your loss. This is weight lost not % lost. I will announce the winner January 2.

You can not win 2 months in a row.

    Chit chat is allowed, as well as WAYWO, (what are we working on). Please stay positive and uplifting as that is what keeps us on track. Come to this thread for tips, recipes, encouragement and {{{{HUGS}}}}}}

The prize is a themed FQ. At the end of the month the people who didn't lose as much weight will contact the BIGGEST loser/winner for their information and sent them the themed FQ.

December is the time of holidays and winter cold. This month's theme is WHITE, or GREEN, or BROWN in anticipation of the snow and pine trees. As always if you can not send the theme fabric please send what you have. If you don't have an FQ, send a linear 1/4 yard. If you have signed up to be in the competition, please send the winner her/his fabric. The winner has worked hard for this reward.

Eat healthy, exercise, try and lose weight but most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign up deadline to be included in the Prize Adventure is December 3 at 9 a.m. CST. You can always contribute to the thread, but it is only fair to have a cutoff for those trying to win.

TO PARTICIPATE, JUST SIGN IN HERE ON THIS THREAD BEFORE DECEMBER 3. THERE IS NO NEED TO PM FOR PARTICIPATION, JUST YOUR ENDING WEIGHT LOSS FOR THE MONTH.

You must sign into the thread at least weekly to be eligible for the winning "skinny quarters" or to be declared "best loser for the month."

Ah, I guess I am the first to jump in for December. I am not sure what November's outcome will be, but I know having this thread as a focus will help me through December. I do have my November skinny quarter ready for November's achiever. Today I am working on the most awesome table topper. It will keep me occupied all day. It is so fun, I may just have to post the picture when I finish.

    Red face

I'm in. I don't expect to win as I'm having trouble maintaining a previous weight loss and only want to lose what I've gained, but I definitely want to do that and encourage others to stay healthy at this difficult time of year for that!

Cookies are my trigger food and they abound (and apparently breed just like coat hangers) everywhere in December ... just saying - LOL. I have my FQ set aside to remind me of my goal.

I'm in. December is such an interesting month. I usually maintain, then gain weight after the big day. I must like leftovers. This December I will work hard on getting off the five pounds from Thanksgiving.

I'm in again for December. I want to take off at least another 5 pounds before the end of the year but it's going to be a tough month because of all the holiday baking. We love to make up gift trays for neighbors and friends and it's hard not to have some of everything ourselves. We won't be with family this year so the usual stress of the preparation for house guests, huge meals and constant snacking from the goodie table won't be an issue for us. The only challenge will be not getting depressed to the point where I eat everything in sight!

Good luck to everyone who is joining us this month.

Count me in, too -- I didn't lose anything in Nov so I really need the push in Dec. In March we have a rent on the beach in San Diego and I want to be able to look decent in a swin suit.

I lost the thread and now I've found it again. This new board is driving me nuts.
Glad to see ya'll here. Be sure and write down what you weigh today. By the end of the month you'll forget.
Must be sure and chat here at least once a week to get the FQ prize.

I will be back tonight to announce November winner.

I recorded my weight for December - 1 pound less that November. I will work to get 10 off before the 25th because it will be hard from then until the 31st - I love cookies, especially biscotti with coffee. I have lots of sewing to do, so hopefully that will help. Best wishes with everyone's efforts I know we will succeed.

Yesterday's weight was down a pound so I have I gained a total of 4 pounds since Thanksgiving. At least I'm back under 150. My goal for the month is to lose those four pounds. For me, it's not the dinner, it's the leftovers. If a holiday dinner is away from home, I don't gain. If it's here, I do. Christmas is always here. Yikes!

On a quilting note, the border for the wildlife quilt is Flying Geese. Do you prefer the geese to go all the way to corner or to have cornerstones? I need some input. It's a busy quilt and the cornerstones might make it busier but at this point, it wouldn't make much difference. It's the blue and gold block that is throwing it off, but those were my son's high school colors.

Speaking of blue and gold, I am attending a BB game today. A GS made the 7th grade team and his mother has to work. His father works evenings, too, so I'm on. They both took Monday off for an away game, but neither could get today off. Bleachers are difficult with my fused ankles, but the little brother can be my railing.

It was so gorgeous out yesterday. The dogs and I arrived at the lake just as the sun set. The sun was down, but the sky was all colors as was the reflection on the surface of the water. So lovely. Today is dreary, but that's normal for early December. Living East of Lake Michigan, we have more cloud cover than usual until the big lake freezes. I may have to find something to knit so I can sit still under my sunlamp. I want to make a scarf for a new GDIL. She is Chinese and came to Michigan as an art student. My GS was her language instructor. I have some silky ribbon 'yarn' that should work for her.

I am losing weight and getting healthier. We are all losing weight and getting healthier.

I'm in for December, I gained steadily for the last week of November. I don't regret a single bite, I don't want to live in a world where I can't enjoy my birthday or any other holiday. But, now that those are done I need to get to work on all this poundage. Another holiday is looming.
