OK I love my whitetail friends and am more than willing to have them bedding down on my property, but why do they have to eat my lillies. The poor things haven't even gotten to bud yet and all the leaves are munched down to 1"!!! How do I keep these buggers away from my lillies?

Good Luck! - They DO sell a deer deterent (sp)that is suppose to work. Those deer are beautiful - but they can strip a yard!

I have the same problem with rabbits! Tried moth balls, vinegar, etc. Haven't found anything that works yet.

I guess instead of watching the flowers, we get to watch the animals. :) :) :)

Have you tried putting wire cages over them? (the flowers, not the deer).

I have a co-worker that has the same problem.... Deer and Turkeys, the Turkeys get the seeds, and the Deer get the flowers... oh yeah, then the racoons & Bears get the bird feeders.... She says when there's a mountain lion alert in her neighborhood, she doesn't have a problem with any of those.... maybe you need a mountain lion. LOL!

Darn racoons got into my hen house and did away with all of them. Need any racoons?

Would you believe I'm 10 min. outside the state capital and I have deers, foxes, BEARS, moose, etc.!!! Need to find out how to save my plants. The deers the first year we were here and we had the snowfall from H*** (broke actual records), ate my arborvities!! When spring came there was 2 ft of bushy shrub at the bottom, then 4ft of eat bushes right to the stems, then it bushed out again and went to a peek! They looked like half eaten corn on the cobs!!! Starting to grow back!! Poor things!!

Omg, I had that happen!! I spent days getting my planter ready even arranged the stones in a peace sign pattern and put the plants inside. The deer climbed up there and ate the center plant. This picture is at our old house.

Peace sign flowerbed.
