Funny you should ask this question today. I've dreamt of quilting the last 2 nights. From selecting the fabrics (one was made with some gorgeous purples, and I am NOT a purple kind of girl!), to such accurate cutting, quick sewing and the final product -- they were LOVELY! I almost can't wait to go to bed tonight!

that I saw a new machine that had stretching capabilities like a marshmallow.
It was a white, puffy machine, and looked like it was "breathing"...

Was your pillow still there when you woke up? So funny, but that would be nice, an adjustable sewing machine....hhhuuuummmmm.
hey, so maybe that's why there's a corner missing?

I kept saying, "If only it had a sleeve on the other side..." but I didn't want to change to another dress because that one made me look so awesome (far better than I'd look in real life).

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I've been wondering all day what to make of the dream. Maybe I need to quilt another sleeve onto the dress, lol.
hey it was a fabric dream!...although not my thread, lol!
But it shows you do have an open mind :XD:

Yeah, I dream about quilting. I've been asked to do a memorial quilt for a friend who lost her son in the military. Been trying to think of an appropriate pattern to surround the photos I intend to use because we only have a few (the quilt will be a surprise) and I don't want it to look too feminine. Dreamed about the finished quilt a couple of nights ago while on a trip out of town and when I woke up I knew exactly what pattern I want to use. Now to get sewing.

Someone on the show speculated that dreams are practice for life. Primitive man might have dreamed of being chased by a bear and what they would do. We may dream of things that could happen now (though I suppose that being chased by a bear is still possible) and how we would deal with it.

It hones our skills and lets us act out events. If you dream that a quilt comes out LOVELY, doesn't that tell yourself that it IS possible and give you the push to achieve what you dreamed?

Just random thoughts for the day. :)

I also dream about quilting. The other night I was trying to work out the math for a quilt before I went to sleep -- I dreamed about that stupid quilt all night but I knew when I woke up how to figure it out (duh)

I dream all the time. Some have been prophetic (won't get into that) but I do, often, dream of quilting and buying fabric. I especially love the buying fabric ones. It's almost as good as the real thing. I have dreampt that I won the big one and went into my LQS and told her I wanted 3 yards of everything!! I would LOVE for that one to come true! If that ever happened I would have to turn one of the bedrooms into a fabric room. I have also gone to sleep with a problem and have awakened with the answer. The subconcious is a funny thing.

LOL, very good point! (It was nice fabric, too, kind of a red-gold silk.)

I'd be fascinated to hear about your prophetic and problem-solving dreams, although there should probably be another thread for that.

the subconscious is a funny thing...and the pr dreams...I did that once too and it scared me:shock: but bc of the dream a family was able to come together on an important decision.
I go to sleep planning quilts. I dream in color most of the time, and man...if I could get 3 yards of everything, I know I would be dreaming! :XD:
I think I breathe, quilt. Now to just get more done and stop day-dreaming! :XD:
