When my Kids were teenagers they painted the basement grey, mottled yellow over it and then my daughter painted a HUGE dragon bust with crossed arms. Dragon is purple and green with yellow, red and gold gilt-type paint accents.
Glad it's in the basement. Sad it's on a wall and she can't cut it out and take it to HER home. It is really well done, she is quite the artist. But it just isn't my style. <sigh>

Eggplant purple and green are the accent colors all through my house which is mainly yellow hued beiges and tans and white. I use touchs of purple at Christmas too with red, green, & gold. There's also new opinions on dogs seeing some colors in varying hues. Red is supposed to be one of those colors I think. Since purple has red in it; if these theories are true it would explain Heidi's preference. I choose to believe it's because she has exceptional taste!

I don't, but can't understand why :) Deep, dark purple has always been my favorite color!

Yes, I have two purple (blue purple, not red) in my living/family room. We lived in military housing for years and it was so dark. When we finally bought out own house I made sure it had plenty of windows to support two dark walls. And while my master bathroom isn't purple, I have purple flowers and towels in there.

Our bedroom is a granny smith apple green and dark grape purple with white woodwork. Our bathroom is dusky purples, green and yellow. Love them both and the colors work!

Living room furniture! Unbelieveably hard to find but we did...and love it! Accents in that room are red but really all colors, since we have vacation souvenirs on display, an antique church pew with the cushion covered in a modern stripe and pale tan Berber carpet.
