I loved her as a kid. We saw her a few years back at a company picnic. She was the entertainment that day. My youngest was about 8 then and sang "it's my party" all the way home. It was a two hour drive and I was sick of that song when I got home. She still loves it.

"It's my Party" was my FAV song when I was young(er)!! Remember "You don't own me...I'm not just one of your many toys"? I can still get "fired up" when I hear those old songs! At least we could understand the lyrics and didn't have to "bleep" words!!

Oh I love those songs! My sister sang them all the time. My grandma's neighbor sang in a band, when she practiced the whole neighborhood had a treat. I can still remember sitting on the piazza (now there's a word memory) listening to her sing It's My Party. Awwwww

My cousin and I would sing those songs while we played with our Barbie dolls on the front porch. Love those days! Now this post has put the song in my head 'Since you've been gone, all I have left is a band of gold'. Ha. My girlfriend in high school and I would sing that song every time we felt sorry for ourselves.
