Default Do you think this is a Craigs List scam?

I was looking for an RV in our area and saw an RV for really reasonable price. When I replied to the ad, the person gave me info on a completely different RV. When I asked for more clarification and asked where they were located, I got no reply. Later I noticed that no matter what state or area of the state I was looking in, that ad was there. I also noticed it was the same description as some retailers had on their sites. Makes me kind of nervous that I answered the ad in the first place.

That does sound like a scam to me, although I am no scam expert.

It sounds like a dealer putting out a bait and switch. Whenever I see an ad with no location on Craigslist, I figure it's not an individual, and not a straight-forward company I'd want to deal with.

I'd stay away from that one. Keep looking and good luck.

I have run into a few scams on Craigslist, theirs usually something very sketchy about the payment method.

I agree, sounds like a scam. They would probably want you to wire the money and offer to deliver it. There is no RV. And then your money is gone.

Stick to dealing locally, much safer. Never buy anything you have not seen in person, no matter how good the price is.

he, he. you should have come to buy ours. my hubby gave it away for a bad ck for $10,000.00. keys, paperwork and all. he never 'lived and learned"/. I am very wary of all ads. You never know who you are dealing with. (even those who stop by your house. Ouch)

Sounds like some scam, I am glad you went no further.

I would just forget that ad and move on. Find one you can go look at in person. You might report that one to Craig's List for them to check out. I'm not sure how you do that but there may be a link on the pape where you see the ad.

I tried selling my daughter's wedding dress, that was never used, on Craig's list. I received a reply stating they would send a cashier's check and I could send the dress once I received it. I checked out the name, and this guy was a major scammer. He sent responses to ads all over the country with the same type of response. I never did sell the dress!
