LG brand TVs were once called Gold Star....

I would not recommend an LG product. We bought a very expensive LG flatscreen panel TV and believe it or not, that thing died just over a year later (1 year, 9 days after purchase and exactly 9 days after the warranty ended). When we called the dealer about it he chuckled and said, "I guess you bought the lemon... ha.. ha.. ha!" I couldn't get over how rude he was so I told him I would tell everyone that LG makes garbage... and exactly who we purchased it from (he's out of business now). Our next large flatscreen purchase was a Sony Bravia and the picture is 100 times better than with the LG.

When traveling I have noticed that in all the hotel rooms that have flat screen tv's that they are LG's. Some have had really good pictures, some needed thrown in the trash. We have a Hitachi, my sister a LG, I really like the Hitachi and noticed my sisters seemed distorted. I'm unsure how much of the quality of the picture has to do with where you get your cable/satellite.

We have had an LG a few months and so far happy with it. I thought most appliances were made by the same manufacturer with different names put on them anyway.

Boys bought us one for xmas. Love it! Oldest has had his for about 7-8 months. Went through a lightning hit, and it still has a fabulous picture. He is a techno-geek, and says they are about the best you can buy.
