Default Does anyone know what this plant is called?

A friend gave me this plant several years ago. It was something she bought at Home Depot and was a small little plant. It has grown into this big plant and it has these really pretty flowers. I bring it inside in the winter and it drops its leaves and kind of goes dormant. I still water it some and have it where it can see the morning sun. No one I know seems to know what it is. I don't normally have a green thumb but this plant has flourished in spite of me!

Could be a hibiscus or an azalea..need a closer look at the actual flower. You are certainly being a good mom....look how happy it is...maybe consider a larger pot or more dirt. You could look on line and see if it will live outside as a perennial in your zone...if so after bloom time you could transplant

I believe it is a rhododendron, but could be an azalea. A better pic of the leaves and flowers would help

My first thought was plumeria, but more pictures would help.

This was my first thought. If you have a plant nursery near by you could clip a blossom and leaf and take it in and they would probably be able to identify it and give you care instructions.

Looks like an Azalea, but could also be a Rhododendron. All azaleas are rhododendrons, but not all rhododendrons are azaleas.

This site has info on both:

Leaves are wrong for an azalea or rhododendron. Looks more like a Plumeria. Need a close-up of the flower to confirm.
