Does the post office really deliver in the snow?
#18
When I was in PLattsburgh, where it snowed a lot and we had real cold temperatures, we never missed our mail. They came no matter what. We are in NYC since July and on December 26 we had a large snow storm. It was Sunday. The next day everything was open except for the post office and the bank. The roads were messy but passable. No any other store was closed. We didn't get mail until Wednesday.

Our maillady doesn't come in the snow. We have lots of hills, curvy roads and no shoulders. We are about 35 miles outside St. Louis, I hear our roads are in better condition than the city streets.

In town, our mailman comes trudging by on foot in all weather. Pouring rain, snow, whatever. He is later some days but he is here.
At my mom's in the country, he comes if the road has been plowed. She seldom misses mail even when it snows.
