Classes depend on where you feel you are at.

Upper is those that you feel have a lot more material processions.

Middle class may have the what is needed and a little more.

Lower class is those who have less.

In the eyes of God our creator we are all equal... it is in the eyes of some people that we have 'class' differences.

Upper class - have enough to pay bills plus extra,
Middle class struggling to have enough to make the monthly bill payments - no extra,
Lower class - not enough to make ends meet - need assistance

At one time I studied historical clothing - clothing used to distinguish class. In the last 100 years more or less sewing machines and industrial clothing production revolutionized what people wore. No longer a class distinction for clothing in the US. I don't know about other places. Kids on my street wear designer clothing all the time - they may be on food stamps and other gov subs but they do wear fine clothing... Quilting board is not an odd place to raise your questions after all!!!

Are you talking socio-economic status? I know plenty of upper income who have no class and many lower income people who have my highest respect.

This is exactly what I think, too!!!!

Have you read anything by Ruby Payne? Wonderful thoughts on economic status.

Do not like term "classes" much but if I had to answer it would be that the middle class are the ones who are paying all the taxes and doing all the work so that some can be called the upper class!
