    Middle class is what dh & I used to be...Now that he's retired, I think we've been downgraded to lower class due to the rising cost of living. It's said when a person works hard all his life, has had setbacks that caused us to go through our savings, and struggles to pay the monthly bills & buy groceries.

    Pretty soon there will be no such thing as middle class...just upper (rich) and lwer (poor)....
