I don't use drop cloths but I do use plastic bird seed bags, which horrifies my son. I have covered outside porch cushions and anything else that I can think of. They are attractive and waterproof.

Cute idea...I saw a child's dropcloth tent on a blog recently. You could make an adult size one too, if you wanted. It would be good for a "glamping tent" for when you need more room for guests, or just need a small party tent.

The one thing I like about the dropcloths is that although they are fairly heavy, they still go through my sewing machine just fine. Sunbrella, for example, is really tough on both the machine and me. I go through a lot of needles using Sunbrella fabric and my arms get worn out trying to wrangle with it.

Are you talking about the woven ones that lots of feed companies use now? I have a stash of those. I've made reusable shopping bags out of them. I covered the outside with quilting fabric. I'd love to see a pic of your cushions. Sounds like a fabulous idea!
