Default Emb machine thread

I have some embroidery thread but was wondering if I could use YLI silk thread and/or Aurifill Mako cotton 50 weight with my emb machine. No problem if not, just was trying to be frugal if possible.
Thank you

The aurifil cotton you can for sure. I have not tried the silk thread in an embroidery. The finer (silk) threads might not give you as a solid fill on embroideries unless you adjust them in software(if you have it).

The finer thread is good for small detailed and/or dense embroidery such as small lettering or facial features in a small design. I bought several colors of finer 60wt embroidery thread and size 9 needles for this reason.
