emb. stabilizers
If any of you have purchased stabilizer from allstitch.net, do you like the (I believe it's called ripstitch) tearaway and have you had good results with their stabilizers? I have never used this kind and was interested in ordering some. Thanks for your responses.

I haven't used that brand - but have used tearaways. They do tear well, especially with heavier stitching. They are not good at all with embroidery like redwork patterns. You might not be able to get all of the stabilizer out of the embroidery. They work a lot better than the adding machine tape we used years ago.
There is a group here called embroidery machines, let's chat and have fun. You might want to ask there for any information.
I'd check with them about the best stabilizer to use for any situation.

Yes, and I love it. I like the soft tear away Rip stitch better than the regular, but that is a personal preference as they both work the exact same. I am not sure if they send samples automatically (they used to), but ask for a sample package of their backings. They send a generous folder of all their supplies with a book that includes all their bobbins, needles and misc supplies, PLUS a sample of each backing they sell. I can send you mine if they don't still have those and you can get a "hands on" feel of all of them. I love this company and they have quick delivery and great customer service.

I have ordered a lot of my stabilizers from allstitch, and have been pleased. I believe that they manufacture it. I use their med. wt tear away a lot. they used to let you order small amounts. I would get some to see if you like it. You need to match the stabilizer to your project, so you need different types. They have a wonderful education page:

There's not a forum on this board, just a specific thread:

There are several other excellent machine embroidery boards, google "machine embroidery forum" to check them out.
