If I recognized the name but not the site, I would contact the person in some other fashion to ask if they sent the link. I did this with an email sent to me from a friend and that was how she found out her email had been hacked.

If we don't know the sender we never open them. We have been burned opening things when we don't know who sent them.

I don't open any e-mail from strangers. If they don't know my name then I don't open their mail. I get things all the time from people but they don't even know who I am. That means it's just spam. They sent the same thing to everyone on their list.
