The only time Iever get pecan pie is Thanksgiving....its my absolute favorite.......cantwait for desser today?

My pecan pie! It's a favorite of the whole family, I made three yesterday and there won't be any left. I only make it for Thanksgiving, and for my oldest son, Rick, on his birthday. He gets a whole pie then! another we like is pumpkin praline pie. My kids never liked pumpkin pie, but this one they gobble up. And daughter, Linda, makes a great Chess cake with coconut and pecans that is to die for. Isn't it funny how we all have those favorites that we save for this special day? Actually my kids just love Thanksgiving. Rick says it is the only time I really cook a big meal anymore. ( You have to know Rick!.lol ) I don't have to cook again this year, except for the dessert and a couple sides, dinner will be at son Todd"s house, and DIL, Becca is doing the staples. I have to make the gravy though, she still hasn't mastered that one. She is a lovely lady, we are quite blessed that she married into this family. We will miss our two little ones this year, they have to be with their mom, but tomorrow they will spend the day with me . It will be a busy day, but lots of fun. I just hope they don't find their Xmas presents!! Have a wonderful day everyone!!
