love your gardens! takes a whole lot of time to do but the results are soooo worth it aren't they? You will enjoy those all summer. Take pics later on when everything starts to fill in and bloom, what a riot of color you will have. Thanks for sharing.

You are SO right about the bugs. I was in my garden all day Saturday (yes, even in the rain) and am now the polka-dotted lady, with dozens of black fly bites. Hate 'em!

I would love to know the names of those gorgeous iris plants!

Your gardens are beautiful!

Do you use mulch? I always do and this year, I got cedar mulch. I have a big problem with slugs in my yard, but I'm not seeing too many of them this year and wondered if the cedar had anything to do with it? We have some slugs, but not the invasion we normally get.

As always, your pictures are beautiful! :D

Oh Karla,
I would love to come and hang around in your garden. It is so beautiful. I just got my gardens up, plants dig and re-planted and cleaned out good when it started snowing again. It snowed again yesterday. It doesn't stay, but it does the damage. Thank goodness I didn't put in the annuals yet. They are patiently waiting in the garage.

Found what I've been told, cedar is the best to put down. It has some natural pest deterent. Its suppose to be good for ants too.

Love it! The blooming season is so short around here it definitely makes you appreciate it more.

Now in upstate NY for almost 38 years, but grew up in California. They can keep the smog, but I would gladly give them some of the cold weather and snow in the winter!

You take fabulous photos. Can't wait to see those wedding pictures!
Small world, I too am a native of CA and grew up there, been in Upstate NY for going on 10 years now. I love it here also. I love gardening!
If anyone wants to see photos of my gardens, I am on facebook as Linda Wedge White, and have lots of garden photos posted there.
You will see why my nic is wildyard. LOL

Beautiful gardens. I can see the makings of a few patchwork quilts there. Why not transfer your photos onto fabric?
