Please please send us the leftover rain. All our plants and trees are dying in central Indiana.

sweetana3 -- we're kinda dry here. But I'd love to send you some!!! I love/hate thunderstorms....though we got the rain we needed, I'm worried we'll end up with fires started by the lightening.

I hope they had all the quilts protected or have a laundromat nearby!
What a shame for all the stores that have lost revenue.

I think I read that this is the first year in 37 years that the show got rained out. Hope they got the quilts down before they got soaked. Sure could use some of that rain here in Wisconsin!

I just got more info from friend that was there..... I asked her if she got wet. Here's her answer:

" Pant legs mostly. A little damp when if first started raining, then it quit, started again and got worse from there. At one point we were walking up a side street back to the main drag and a bolt of lightning came down that was not
Pant legs mostly. A little damp when if first started raining, then it quit, started again and got worse from there. At one point we were walking up a side street back to the main drag and a bolt of lightning came down that was not more than a block from us and it was in an open area. I saw the streak from sky to ground. My ankle and feet hurt but let me tell you, did I move after that. Went to the stichen post hoping to get a bag but they were out. Oh well no sovenier"

Another post from her said the fire dept. got in immediatly and started taking down the quilts that were on the high building. Volunteers jumped in and immediately started taking down quilts. Another friend e-mailed me that she was having a hard time leaving Sisters to get to Bend --- traffic jams!!

Oh my! We got this storm yesterday in the Seattle area. Someone's house was hit by lightning & he was thrown 15' across the room but is ok. He got out as the house burned down. These lightning storms are nothing to mess with - hope everyone in Sisters, quilts included are safe. Even with all our rain, lightning fires is still an issue here, especially on the East side of the Cascade Mountain range.
