First I want to thank everyone who had suggestions on our flea problem! We had done several of the things you suggested, and I want to report on our success. We have washed every thing in the house that would go into the washing machine. We have treated all the carpets, upholstered furniture and mattresses. Every surface that could be was covered with borax for several hours, then we vacuumed the entire house, including walls! We have bathed the poor puppy several times. Currently he has a flea spot that seems to be working. Today our daughter brought us a pill to give him once a month that is a combination heart worm and flea pill. It will have to wait until next month to be given.
Now for the best part, this morning we found no dead fleas in the bed, and when he was combed we found no live fleas. It seems to be working! Thanks again to all who made suggestions! Hopefully we won't have to have an exterminator.

Glad to hear that you may have it under control.

Be careful washing the dog too many times with flea dip. It is poison and too much can make your dog ill!

YES! Fleas love bark dust, if you have any.
