    the FR padded envelopes are really nice. And this is the only way you can get them.

    the post offices do not carry all the sizes that are online
    so u may be paying for shipping more that u need to be :-D

    What is FR , Flat rate? How much to ship in them and how much stuuf can you put in them?

    they cost $4.95 to ship, if you print postage online it is $4.75 and you get free delivery confirmation. Some people can really stuff them!!

    I searched the usps site and could not find the padded flat rate envelopes to order. Am I missing something?

    Just a clarification -- the Flat Rate padded envelope postage is $4.95 whether purchased online or at the PO.

    The regional rate boxes are flat rate as to weight, but the rates are based on how far you are sending them, and seem to increase by about 3 dollars for every zone away from your own that you send them.

    Neither of these can be used for international shipments.

    One can also get "legal sized" flat rate envelopes (FRE) -

    I like them better than the padded ones.
