I've gardened and flowered all 53 years of our marriage. The last years I just didn't enjoy it as much and we moved from the farm in February into a town home in our small hometown. I am looking forward to beautifying the outdoors around our new home. I can do as much or as little as I want and I am not going to overdue it as I just don't want that much work anymore. Age changes us for sure. By the way, my daughter and family have moved to our farm site and can go and help her - if I want to. I think I have the best of both worlds now.

Staunch gardener here. Shrubs and dwarf conifers are my passion, as are low-growing ground cover flowers. No garden is complete IMO without ornaments and/or statues.
Now that spring is here, I'm already immersing myself with little things, things like hydrating plantings and weeding-out the beds. I loose myself when I garden, often not even hearing anything around me. It's my escape from the outside world, a chance to forget about my troubles and worries.
