DH saw an article that said the lower prices are because Putin opened the Ukrainian refineries and flooded the marketed. I'm sure they will find a way to raise the prices again. We paid $3.59 to $3.99 on our trip last week up the California coast . We did find it at $4.39 in one isolated stretch.

It's $2.99 here in the town where we live, however, we went shopping today in a bigger town about 40 miles north of us and it was $2.79. Topped off the tank before we started back home.
Remember the gas wars in the 60's? Gas was less than 30 cents a gallon back then (of course minimum wage was about $1.25 so it all evened out). When I was a teenager in Southern California, we used to all chip in less than $1 and we could cruise around all night on the weekends!
