So, when I am not quilting, I am also a chef. This recipe was in Martha Stewart's Holiday Sweets Issue this year. Instead of the traditional Gingerbread Cookies for the structure, it is a luscious Gingerbread cake with cookies for the tile roof and trim. The Snowman is fondant, with a tootsie roll hat and the dog is Almond Paste. The snow is made from regular sugar, swirled in the food processor with cornstarch and looks sooo real! The teeny lights are battery-operated LED's and finish the effect off beautifully!
It was FUN to make (though it did take the better part of a day!)
We haven't had the heart to eat it...YET!
