Pevely, yes. Crown Candy has ice crem but definitely a day trip. Not at night. I assume the poster will not hve her own transportation so a lot of these great places require travel by car and not by foot. Perhps there is a shuttle tour. I am from STL so I have my own car. Interestingly, I have heard great things about Crown Candy but I have never been!

You're correct - I won't have a car as I'm flying into St. Louis. I'm limited by daylight, my own two feet, and cab fare. Thank you all for suggestions - they are so much appreciated!! I'm definitely going to try to make it to see the arch - kind of a once in a life time opportunity for this west coast gal. I'm also learning that food in St. Louis has many items that aren't seen on menus for restaurants in the west. This is going to be an adventure.

Are you going to the NSTA STEM conference? I am envious! I am only 2 1/2 hours away and due to school budget I probably will not get to go. Doesn't help that our last day of school is that Friday with semester exams that week.

A few yrs ago I went to the national NSTA in St Louis. I walked every day to the convention center from the Drury Inn which is by the baseball stadium and the Arch. It was an easy walk.

My mom lives in at Little Sisters of the Poor. When I go downtown from there I pass Crown Candy. I've seen people standing in line out on the sidewalk waiting to get in?

Yep! That is exactly what conference I'm going to. We're in year 1 program improvement, so 10% of Title I funds have to go to professional development. Since we had about $4000 that needed to be spent in 5 days, I am able to attend this conference. I teach a STEM elective, so I'm excited to get new, low cost ideas.
