Default Good Fall/Winter activates in the Pacific Northwest

What are some things to do in Portland, OR area?

Please share what you have discovered. Are there special events especially open this time of year?

I have been to Powell’s, the river front, a few fun neighborhoods and some local hiking. I want to venture out and see what you all know about this new home for me. Thanks.

If you would like to venture out a bit, a drive along the Columbia Gorge is always beautiful this time of year. Don''t forget to stop at Multnomah Falls. There are several other falls along the drive.

You could visit the Japanese and Chinese gardens. The rose garden is beautiful in the summer. If you like old houses, tour the Pittock mansion.

Check to see if the Multnomah Falls is open first. It was in the path of the fires this year and has been closing for clean up and repairs.

Many farms in the area have “corn mazes” for people to enjoy and some have fresh pumpkins available to purchase.

Also, Lloyd Center mall is beautiful this time of year, and you can shop while you enjoy the scenery.
Just a short hop south on I-5 is “The Enchanted Forest” amusement part. It is a beautiful fall hike to explore. You can also explore the state capital grounds in Salem. They are beautiful.

This place is too cool:

They have a submarine moored down at the dock that you can tour.
