my ex was horrible about putting the toilet seat down. After so many times of getting up in the middle of the night to "go" when I was 9 months pregnant I had had enough. I unscrewed the seat and hid it. If I had to hang my bottom in the cold water so did he. The seat was off for about a week when he came jitterbugging in because HE had to "go" and it was red alert time. I let him have the seat back and never had much of a problem after that.
