Someone wrote in our message board about over the counter medication they take for thinning hair that has worked for them, tried to find the posting but forgot to bookmark it. Does anyone remember what it was? She bought it at Walmart and in a year the thickness of her hair returned.

A friend that goes to the same beauty shop as I do heard if you take prenatal vitamins your hair will thicken up, her hair was very thin, she took the vitamins and sure enough her hair thickened up, no joke it really did I would not have believed it if I hadent seen it myself. The prenatal vitamins are quite cheap and sure dont hurt to try.

Had a blood count lately that also included a Thyroid test?

That seems to be one of the signs of a low thyroid. There are a mass of them but that...losing a lot of the eyebrows and eye lashes are common.

I have hypothroidism, am on medication for it, have semi-annual blood tests to check thryoid level & I'm still losing my hair.

Thinning hair and also be a result of PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome). Dr. has me on Aldactone (Spironolactone) for the hirsutism. I hate taking it, but I'm afraid of how little hair I would have without it.
