weiners=hot dogs, frankfurters, umm, guess that's it.
made of pork, chicken or beef, or all of the above. Some have lots of chemicals and preservatives. some are batter dipped and baked or fried.
Some ppl put on their buns and slather on mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and/or relish...onions, cole slaw, chili, cheese...endless toppings.
shew! i'm tired now. trying to post pics. not working. going back in, for another try! :D

:D You are right , in films it means someone who is afraid to do something, but I was referring to a hot dog on a stick that you cut from the woods!

Have you roasted wieners this way before?
Very common here for kids, when we were growing up didn't have grills, so had to improvise!

I like the sound of roasted wieners. Hans knew what they were and says the name comes from Vienna, like Frankfurters from Frankfurt and hamburgers from Hamburg! I'll take mine in a roll with onions and mustard!
I have roasted marshmallows (are they from Marsh? ) on a stick over the fire, when I was a child and lived in Canada.

are they from Marsh???....hee hee hee
I forgot, they are also called weenees. Was really, really surprised that you didn't say, "OOOOOH!!! we call them_ ."
I thought hot dogs, (most common name, over here), were world wide. Guess they are, but, some ppl have them, some don't.
They are delish...and saugies...they are dee-lissh, too, Terri!
Hubby could live off those, and Taco Bell.
Yeah, and his cholesterol test showed it!
Yup, best weiners, are on a stick, and best marshallows, too.
So, when did you move from canada...age?
and was your dad in military?

ok, if I am right??? saugies, are sausage dogs, on a bun.
umm, you do have sausage over there, right?
usually pork...spiced differently than hot dogs/wieners, but they are particularly yummy too! and all condiments, go with them, but I just like mayonnaise.
Can't do buns...a gluten intolerance thingy...no bread, no biscuits...i yi yi...making myself hungry...i do, do occasion Twinkies though. Helps me wake up, if waved under the nose, LOL*
Smores...you poor thing....take two graham crackers, melt the marshmallow, and put on, one, put on chocolate bar, like Hersheys...you do know what a Hershey bar is? flat little bar, with divided little sections, with name Hershey stamped on each one, for ocd-ers, like myself, to take apart and play with, before eating...anywhoo, you put on chocolate, and the marshmallow is hot, so chocolate melts...yummmers!!!
having de'ja vue here about this conversation, hmmm....yup, sure am gettin hungry...think my tiger in tummy is waking up...feed me...oh, got to go feed my kitty...brb!
