I'll have to get one. The screwdriver that came with my machine is too long to get the throat plate screw loose. Thanks for posting.

Even if you don't need this tool for your machine, it is a wonderful thing to have on hand. I use mine often for all sorts of tasks.

Thanks soooo much for this tip. It is hard to remove the screw. Most screwdrivers are way 2 long, even the 1 that comes with the machine.
    thanks again.......

We have a tool like that. We had to buy one a few years ago because it was the only way to reach the screws that hold on the drawer handles between the back of the false drawer fronts and the kitchen sink, in an area that is too small for a regular screwdriver. We were painting the cabinets and needed to take off the handles. I may have to raid my DH's tool box for that because he has never had another use for it. It was much more expensive at a home store when we bought it! It's odd that your package doesn't seem to mention that it has a ratchet, but it looks as if it does have it. That's the main feature that makes it useful. You don't have to lift it out of the slot to turn the handle back.

I bought a whole set of short screw drivers with large round handles but this looks like it would be more useful. I still have trouble with screws because I can't get leverage to turn the screw. Thanks.
