Goodness, but I am praying for all of you in Texas - this is a huge storm. My daughter and her family are on a cruise in the gulf - they were rerouted to NO, but will be leaving for Galveston this evening. They are safe but may not have a car when they return to the port. I pray that all the agencies can work well for the recovery and safety of everyone. It is a time like this when I want to be closer to help with the recovery process.

We still have power and no flooding at our house. Some in the neighborhood haven't been as fortunate. We appear to be in for several more days of this so we're all just hoping for the best.

I think that Hurricane Ike was worse as far as wind and damage and having no power for several days, but we are having more rain with Harvey. I've been watching the level in the creek that runs thru our neighborhood and it was down a little this morning. They are doing a controlled release of water from the reservoir which is probably helping, but I heard the one dam it still cresting. The heavy rain seems to be moving east so if it lets up for a while here, levels should go down. We're still okay. A local store brought in a huge shipment of fresh food yesterday so we stocked up again and are good as far as food goes. It's day to day here
