I have began making a lovely dress for my grand daughter who is coming to stay for a few days. (I hope)

Problem is, now I need to find something for my two year old grandson. Any ideas?

When my sons were about 2 or 3 I made them shorts from superman fabric, appliqued a superman emblem on a t-shirt, and then made them a "supercape". The cape was their favorite thing ever! I put, not to hard to pull apart, velcro on straps to hold it around their necks. It flared out and then I put handles on the sides about where there hands would be. They ran around forever holding their handles to make it flare out! Then I had to make about 20 more for all the neighbor kids they were so popular! Thank goodness I had the foresight to use small pieces of velcro and not tie those things around their necks. They chased each other around and pulled the capes off each other but never got hurt!

That's so cool GwynR - So you made some simple shorts, bought a t shirt and added a sm applique. Did you add embellishments to the cape or was it a solid red?

Love the idea! Oh what fun!

I made capes also for my son and his friends at their nursery school. They absolutely loved them!

Just checked out Esty for Superman costumes - they have stacks on offer. Will get some ideas from there!
Thanks Leslie Frost

I made my nephew a cape out of blue satin and appliqued his initial in red on it. He wasn't very old so I warned him..."this is just to "pretend" with. You can't really fly!" I only said that because he had gone upstairs and I was afraid he was going to jump over the railing. haha He's 17 now so he survived.

I know you will come up with something great.
