I'm thrilled for you. I am also having my first grandchild in Nov. and it's also a girl. They told us we were going to be grandparents by giving me a mother's day gift of fabric to make a quilt for the baby. I'm so excited and can't wait to sew things for her.

I have only one grandchild...my sweet little Gabrielle who will be 3 next month. She is the most precious thing in the world to me! She now asks to sit on my lap so we can sew together. Do your kids live close enough so you will get to see her a often?

Awwww, congratulations, i got my first granddaughter 14 mos ago, i adore her and she loves her nana, she stays glued to me, her mommy and daddy get so upset, they have 2 sons and i have 2 more grandsons by my daughter, i never wanted a girl because i was having so much fun with the boys, but when emma came along i was bitten by the girl bug, i get to take care of her and her brothers while mom and dad work, what fun but oh so exhausting.

Oh, I'm so happy for you! Hope to be a grandma some day too. (always preached "get your education & career first") and so far that's what my kids are doing. Hope they find their perfect mate in due time (and then give me grandchildren!)

Congratulations!! Baby girls are so precious! You are going to have a ball!
My little Allie Catherine is 6 months old. I haven't decided if I am going to be Gramma or Nana.
Even if they don't know the nursery colors so you can start on a quilt there is still plenty you can be working on: receiving blankets, burp cloths, bibs. I had so much fun making little shoes and sun hats too. Next summer will be sun dresses. I am already collecting fabric.

Congrats! You will just be "over the moon" when you hold her for the first time...I know some of the first words that I had for my little granddaughter...I told her we were going to have so much fun shopping and sewing and I was going to spoil her rotten...she is only 13 months but such a little charmer!
