That is so true about asperins. When I use to drive truck with my ex other half we were in Amarillo Tx . we had stop to fuel and he started to go do the other side to fuel when he came back into the truck holding his chest and hollering and he went to the back of the bunk rocking back and forth. I told him that he ought to go to the hospital bull headed he said No! so I gave him 3 asperins and he stayed back in the bunk and then he laid down so I drove home to Ga. He went to the dr. when we got home and he did tests on him and sent him to the hospital right from his office and he had a stent put in. The dr. said he should have went to the hospital in Tx he said from me giving him 3 asperins that saved him. Well a yr. later he was in Fla. and he had a heart attack again he had the place call 911 they put him in Wildwood hospital and put 2 more stents in and he told him if he would have pulled what he did in Tx for not going to the hospital he wouldn't have made it. He is doing well and hasn't had any problems and he's still driving. I used 3 reg asperins

As a nurse, please also do not rule out STROKE!!! One of my co-workers had a full blown one last week and only had a really "bad headache"=---course she does not remeber her garbled speeck and lack of concentration! IF things don't feel right, get help!!!

[quote=AlwaysQuilting]when they say "dissolve an aspirin", or "chew an aspirin" while waiting for the EMTs, do they mean full strength aspirin or the 81mg aspirin I take daily?
    I've heard both versions.

    Thanks in advance.
It's amazing the wide range of info we can get here.[/qu

81 mg won't hurt--the main thing is to call!!

Sorry I usually check snopes for accuracy on emails that float in my mailbox.

Decide for yourselves. The part about the crystal aspirins is very interesting...too much aspirin and caffeine!
Check with your doctor if you have concerns--the rule of thumb when it comes to cardiology is time is muscle!!!! 90 minutes from first signs of a heart attack to an intervention is the norm...don't let the internet be your guide--call 911!!! it can and will save your life.
