Default Help me find a Stuffy rooster pattern

A friend is looking for a pattern for a stuffed animal rooster to sit on her mantle with its legs hanging over.
I know I've seen this style for other stuffies. Can anyone suggest a site or a pattern that could be adapted?
Thanks
MaryKatherine

I seem to remember one from a quilt program on TV where a rooster was made much the same as the chicken pin cushion pattern. They added long 1/2 wide legs with a knot in them for knees. The Rooster was about 8-10 inches with the legs about 2 feet long? The rooster had the polypropylene beads in the bottom so it could sit on a shelf with the legs dangling down. I am thinking maybe a Sewing with Nancy program where she went to Switzerland?

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking it was Georgia Bonesteel's show, which just started showing again on CreateTV. They are the older shows, but I do remember her doing some kind of rooster or bird. That episode has not aired yet. If you don't find it on Nancy's videos, try hers.

I found this pattern on eBay (about the 3rd one or so in the listing):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/McCalls-Craf...item35c47ef67b

Although the pattern is for a Mama chicken, the photo shows a modification into a rooster, I think, in the lower righthand area.

I have some adorable ones sitting on a shelf in my kitchen. I will try to find the pattern and let you know. It was from JoAnns. Probably McCalls or Simplicity. Maybe 10 years ago. It should be here somewhere.

I think it was actually Georgia Bonesteel that did that show in Switzerland. They were made from 4 triangles. Check youtube? I think they were made as pincushions, but you could make it bigger?

www.thetincat.com has a free pattern for them.

This Georgia Bonesteel book has a rooster on the cover (and you can get a better view of it by looking inside the book, towards the end):

The legs don't hang down, though. Don't know if this is the rooster from Switzerland or not.

This is the rooster, but just add length to the leg pattern, and tie a knot for the knees, and you got it.
