Default Help! with Pillow Case

I am making a couple of pillowcases using the Missouri Quilt Co. you tube video. I understand how to make those but my problem is how do I make this as a 5 ft. body pillow - pillow case. I have to use the fabric lengthwise so instead of having the "folded side" being on the side (as in the video) my folded side is at the bottom. I cannot wrap my head around doing this the way the video shows. Should I be sewing up one side of my fabric (so making that the "folded" side) and opening the bottom and then follow the video?

Hope I am making sense here and someone can clear my head. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

That made sense to me, and I would do it the way you suggested. Maybe some one else has good ideas too. Good luck.

I don't understand your problem. I would just make it like a regular pillowcase but instead of cutting the body part at 27 inches for a regular case, cut it at 55-57 inches, then when you add the border part it will be about 60 inches long.

Quiltaddict, I apologize, I didn't specify that the pillow itself is 30" wide so I couldn't do it that way as the width of fabric wouldn't fit that size of pillow. I did do it the other way and it worked out well.

Why not buy double the amount of fabric for length and width. Open to width side and stitch along one lenght to make the fabric wider. Ignor the stitched side and pretend it is the folded side. Then follow the remaining steps. Hope this makes sense.

It does make sense. I did it the way I was originally thinking and it worked. Thanks for responding!

I make them with a seam at the bottom and put in a zipper at the top. That way the pillow case does not roll down when you toss and turn
