Nothing has changed about traffic being a nightmare and the parking in some places is even more restrictive (and expensive).

What airport are you flying into? BWI(Baltimore)? or DCA(Reagan)? or IAD (Dulles)?

And don't forget you can "google" just about anything before you go for more info. Have fun.

Many many thanks to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel a little better about going on this trip. Hopefully I won't feel like I just fell of the ol' tater truck. LOL

I will take all of your suggestions along & show them to everyone, that I'll need help from.

Now it is off to the Dr. tomorrow & see what he can do for this spur that has cropped up on my r. heel. Boy o boy but it sure hurts. Walking is almost impossible & using the sewing machine sends shooting pains up the ankle & lower leg.

From a hillbilly to a tater truck rider: be aware that the Metro stations may be underground and have (scary for me) long escalators. Otherwise very, very cool. I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Half of the fun for GS is to scout the area. Transportation, newspapers, sites to see, etc. That is all part of the trip around here. Of course, Housing prices and groceries are also in my searches.

Congrats and ENJOY!

If you rent a car, you can also rent a GPS...some rental places might even give you one for renting the car.

Went to Poditrist (sp) yest & told him what is going on w/ my foot & how I'm having to use a walker just to get keep weight off my foot-how it hurts just to use the sewing machine, etc. Yep he said if I am going to Wash. D.C. better get er done. Soooooooooooo I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow @ 9:30 a.m. my time. About a month recovery time.

Whoa that was quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL.

GS is going to come & stay with me & help. He is 12 but awesome help-cooks,vacumns,not too good w/ anything else, so we don't worry about that part.

Will try & keep you posted. Thanks
