Default Homemade fabric softener

Okay, I was VERY skeptical, but after 3 loads I think this stuff really works! I found the recipe on Pinterest and made a batch this morning. My youngest son has a lot of poly and polar fleece, which are the worst for static cling. His load came out almost perfect, only 1 item stuck to the fleece! The rest of the laundry has been perfect, and it smells lovely!

I'm a believer. I don't know that I'll ever go back to dryer sheets.

p.s. I used Suave Rosemary & Mint.

Sounds interesting but it doesn't seem as if it'd be much cheaper than liquid softener.

I started making my own laundry soap and fabric softener about a month ago. I have been completely satisfied with both! and have figured the cost per load........big savings and I like knowing more about what is going into the products...

Well, at $.02 (cents) an ounce, it's much cheaper than Downy, which is $.18 an counce.

Looks interesting, I might just try this. I can get suave conditioner on sale for 99 cents. I buy vinegar in gallon jugs at Sam's club 2 for $3.58.

Vinegar is good for so many things besides cooking with, thats why I buy such large quantities

I use liquid fabric softener but per load, use much less than recommended, as it's very concentrated. A large bottle lasts me a very long time. Even though it costs more per ounce, I wonder how much it actually costs, per load (when used only "as needed" instead of the recommended amount). I'll have to measure out exactly how much I usually use, then run the numbers . . . before I'm convinced.

100's of years ago, when I was very young, we used to use fabric softener on our hair long before hair conditioner came into use. Guess it has come full circle.

Also, will the homemade stuff store and last as long before it starts to go bad?
