Go out to eat in the A/C or maybe to the movies and dine on popcorn. Stop at Wendys on the way home for a frosty. Yummm.

Lunch is cold pizza. I'll cook today. But a trip to the freezer is in order to figure out just what that will be. Also need to process veggies for winter storage so my kitchen will get a workout.

Entree Salads, in endless varieties. Load up on fresh veggies on top of salad greens. Build in your protein with cheeses, cold meats, deli ham. You can add boiled potatoes, cooked eggs. Let the dressings add variation. Enjoy.

tonight I'm making a shrimp salad like my Mom used to make---served on a large platter of Romaine lettuce and lots of veggies with the shrimps and deviled eggs on top. The dressing was plain mayo diluted with milk. Delicious with meat also.

Fruit salads, green salads, sandwiches/heroes, pizza, freezer to oven casseroles.... who cooks in the summer? If we do it is on the grill outside.

Lots of salads. I will also take a Saturday and cook enough food for about 2 weeks so I don't have to use the stove and/or oven that much. The crockpot is also my friend.

We had BLT's for supper with iced tea. Quick and nutritious!

I like to grab some chicken salad from the grocery deli and some fruit and eat the salad on crackers and slice up the fruit.

When I heard that we would be under a heat advisory for 5 days, i immediately translated that to mean 'NO COOKING!"
