In Fresno California, the highest recorded temperature was 115° in 1905. However, in 1997, our outside temperature was 118 just outside our patio over the same weekend our AC died. We had to wait three days to get a new unit with the outside tempertures huddling around 110°. Isn't this the way it works, when you need it the most, it breaks!

hmmmm...January 29th is my birthday.
1954....I don't remember that horrid heatwave but I remember mother talking about it as she was pregnant with my sister and was so uncomfortable! Glad we have a/c now!

111F in 1930. Today was a cool 88, tomorrow's high is 94 with thunderstorms. Heat index today was 107.
the coldest day? -19 below F in 1966.
I'm ready for the average in between. ;-)

Don't know the hottest one.The hottest this year was 98.7F.It is a lot better than the last place I lived which was always hovering around 114.80F and then went to 119.7F a few times whilst I was there. I had an idea about the place when I arrived at 68.00F and everyone was running around in anoraks...

If it never got above 70, I'd be happy.
I feel exactly the same - cold is cold - hot is hot - give me 70!!!Originally Posted by SparkMonkey
